Fibrosis Prognosis

The prognosis for pleural fibrosis is generally very good. However, patients may remain moderately breathless on exertion for many years.

Patients should attend regularly check ups with their GP and also have regular x-rays to ensure that their pleural fibrosis does not turn into anything more sinister.

For pulmonary fibrosis the prognosis is less good. Sadly unfortunately facts suggest that patients who have been diagnosed with this condition pass away within 5 years.
